The American continent, surrounded by riches and incredible landscapes to nature throughout the same, also presents a history as rich in content and this still live there. The ruins of Machu Picchu is one of the most visited tourist destinations on the continent, attracting a wide audience from all over the world.

The sanctuary of Machu Picchu is divided into two sectors: agriculture and urban areas, also known as "the citadel". A century after the discovery the amazing temple, just discovered that the temple was the mausoleum of the Inca Pachakuteq, the founder and first emperor of Tawantinsuyu. Reaching the temple on foot, takes 8 days or so, and many people wonder how such a structure could be created as far back.

Machu Picchu (Quechua Southern Machu Pikchu, "Old Mountain") is now called a llaqta (former Inca Andean village) of stone which dates back to mid-fifteenth century, on the promontory that connects the mountains Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu in southern Peru on the eastern slopes of the central Andes. It belongs to the World Heritage of UNESCO since 1983, known by the name of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Pichu. Originally would have been called Picho or Pichu.
