Japan’s Self-Defense Forces and the U.S. military began their largest-ever joint field drills Friday with the South Korean military taking part for the first time as an observer amid heightened tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Do you think the US-Japan military drills aim at China and North Korea?

That the U.S. has rejected China's proposed 6-nation disarmament talks in favour of 3-nation (U.S., Japan and S. Korea) talks in Washington is not a good sign.

Yes. US and its allies' pressure on China over N Korea will not work in the long run. US should change its strategy and policy toward China by understanding China's national interests. In dealing with bilateral relations, US should not be the boss's position, demanding China succumbing to US' national interests at the cost of China's.

China still has a strong card to play- more than $800 billion in U.S. T-bonds. It has already stopped buying long-term bonds in favour of short-term ones, but dumping a few hundred billion will sink the U.S. economy BEFORE the U.S. has a chance to cause more trouble.

I realize that this may sound extreme, but the current situation, where the U.S. is compounding the troubles with N.K. instead of trying to calm it, may require a threat like this.

The bond card is not a threat anymore. If US continues to print money, then the bonds China owns now will become worthless. They are the blood and sweat of Chinese people.

According to Desaview2, losing those "blood and sweat" money of the Chinese people is irrelevant as he puts it:

"Chinese and Japanese already understood it is written off as protection money.................."

May be Japan will have to pay for her protection as the U.S. has a military base in Okinawa, but certainly not China!
