Communist China or Non Communist China?

Yesterday, I had a debate with Alex2010. The paradoxical remarks of his about China is a communist country or not rise my interest to start this thread alone and discuss the phenomenon.

China is not a so-called communist country which is underscored in many reports from Western media by modifying China with the fixed phrase - "Communist China" , but a socialist country as Chinese government officially states.

According to the defintion from Wikipedia, Communism is a sociopolitical movement that aims for a stateless and classless society structured upon common ownership of the means of production, free access to articles of consumption, the end of wage labour and private property on the means of production and real estate

Chinese government admits the classes exist in China. China has privatised a lot of state-owned companies, and assets. Chinese people are allowed to own their houses, companies, cars, etc.

How come China is a communist country in the view of Western journalists?

Then why most Western media outllets still use 'Communist China' when they refer to China?  

They bear animosity against China out of jealousy, and fear to see a rising China to rival with them.

I don't think there are any economic difference that China and Western countries. China has adopted market oriented economy, while the US adopts close-door economic protectionism, and doesn't allow forieign companies to compete on an equal footing.
