Warm, sunny, peaceful.
I was having a cup of coffee in a coffee shop.
A laowai sitting next table was talking to a naive-faced girl.
I happened to hear what the laowai was saying.
He told the girl, you Chinese live a miserable life, you have no freedom.,you better go and protest to your government, blah, blah, blah.......
The girl looked puzzled, and seemed to have difficulty understanding what was told her.
Outside, everything was peaceful and pleasant.
People walking slowly and assuredly, many of them have smiles on their faces.
But the laowai was trying to convince a puzzled Chinese girl that Chinese's lives are miserable! and they'd better go to the street to protest.
I was disgusted, yet amused.
I believe many laowais are doing the same thing everywhere in China these days, including in this forum.
Do I feel strange, no.
I have seen too many.
But indeed, a little disguested.
