I don't dispute that I owed them the $3,500.00 but am wondering why they let it build up to somewhere around $17,000/20,000 before they attempted to collect.
Her debt went from $3,500 to over $17,000 in 10 years! How could that be?
Heres a thought:
You KNEW you had a student loan due and didn't make ANY payments, nor contacted the lender.
Terms, late fees and penalty provisions were provided on the loan document.
The lender was forced to get a default judgment against you by going to court which added legal fees.
I bet she has all the latest tech gadgets to play with, but no job.
Serves her right for being STUPID, sorry boo hoo for you.
