US and China has held human rights many times before, but the divarication still exists.  This dialogue is more like a posture to show that US and China have calm down and the tension is loosed.
The  understanding of Human Rights lies on the history and ideology the differenc of which can not be settled in a short time.
Once again, after the tension, the dialogue will be held, but if the relations degrade agian, the dialogue will be delayed or even cancelled

The US-China Human Rights Dialogue will take place on May 13-14 in Washington, announced US State Department on Thursday.

The US delegation will be led by Assistant Secretary for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Michael Posner. The Chinese delegation will be headed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director General for International Organizations Chen Xu.

The human rights dialogue, which was scheduled by the end of February, had been delayed due to tensions between Washington and Beijing over US arms sale to Taiwan and US President Barack Obama's meeting with the Dalai Lama early this year.

Meaningless human rights dialogue between US and China.
.

Indeed, it is true. Unless, of course, there is a level playing field for the dialogue, nothing could be achieved. In the past, it was almost like to mean that the U.S. telling China: "You do what I say, but not what I do". If human rights is to mean what it means, the U.S's records of human rights isn't that much to speak of, leave alone impressive.

The foreign department twit(s) responsible for this shameful 'dialogue' should be sacked immediately.
This dialogue aims to demeans and humilate the Chinese people; yet we agree to it taking place.

Yes, we Chinese still kowtow to the gweilos!
Will we ever dare to unshackle ourselves?
