The West has realised that LONG AGO, much before Chinese realised the West has.
It is now time China realised it mustn't repeat the same sins some Western nations perpetrated until around the time New CHina was founded.
We have paid for our errors. When will CHina do the same?
Let me refute your statements above.
1. The West, if anything to go by, has not changed or learned according to the posted article,..."Should Africa trust the western media?" The "western sins" as you put it are been perpetuated to this day.
2. Zhongguo's involvement in Africa as stated earlier, was dated back in the sixties. Zhongguo then was as poor as those African countries and thus it was more out of friendship than exploitation. The Zhongguo now has prospered with extra to aid those African friends as she had been doing for the past more than four decades.
3. Zhonggua did not and is not committing those "sins" as what the west had committed for more than a century and are still committing. As such, there is nothing that Zhongguo needs to change per se. For Zhongguo, it is business as usual with the African countries like some more than forty years ago.
May be, if the west were able to remove their ego and jealous feelings over the successes Zhongguo is achieving in Africa they would see the light of the day and be genuine in their want to help Africa at large.
