Coleman Aerospace grew from the Coleman Research Corporation (CRC) established in Orlando , Florida in 1980. The company's initial focus was to provide systems engineering and technical assistance services to government agencies and contractors on a variety of aerospace and defense programs. Coleman won its first major hardware development program in 1992 with the award of the Theater Missile Defense (TMD) Targets program. Under this contract, Coleman provided 25 threat-representative ballistic missiles to be used as targets to support TMD interceptor testing.|
Coleman Aerospace was established in 1996 to perform all Coleman hardware and flight vehicle programs. Since then, those programs have included Consolidated Theater Target Services (CTTS), Sounding Rockets Programs (SRP, and SRP-2), Short Range Air Launch (SRALT), Long Range Air Launch Target (LRALT), Arrow System Improvement Program (ASIP), THAAD Ballistic Reentry Vehicle (BRV), Flexible Target Family (FTF), Multiple Launch Platform (MLP), and many more.
Our customers include the Missile Defense Agency, the US Army, Lockheed Martin Corporation, the US Air Force, NASA, and DARPA.
In addition to performing as the prime contractor for numerous ground- and air-launched missile programs, Coleman has supported many tactical missile and guided flight vehicle programs, primarily in the areas of guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems; aerodynamic analysis and wind tunnel testing; and flight testing and post-test data analysis.
Coleman has recently expanded its interests to include Homeland Security programs such as the Advanced Container Security Device (ACSD) which provides cargo container security.
Coleman Aerospace facilities are located in Orlando , FL
