The answer is D. results.

This is because from a psychological viewpoint, babies and young children are beginning to learn from their interactions with the world, that actions have cause and effect. The basic would be crying. The parent who is really in tune with the child knows if it is because of hunger, thirst, temperature...etc.

Also, the word "results", can be mean any of the other answers.

If I do this, what is the result? A reward.
If I do this, what is the result? An award.
If I do this, what is the result? A prize.

You get a reward if you return lost money.
You get an award if you win the race.
You get a prize when you get the right answer on a game show.
All of these, were the result of your own efforts.

"rewars" is certainly not a choice

But I'd choose "rewards" if it's an option, since the author is talking about babies learning from positive feedback -- being rewarded as a result of certain acts.

Lets say the baby pulls the tail of the dog, and the dog bites the baby. This would not be a "reward" in the sense of what you are suggesting. We can use a sentence in this manner, but it would be considered ironic or sarcastic in its intent.

"The baby pulled the dogs tail and was rewarded with a nip to his hand".

Then it will learn NOT to do that again!
