Key US mortgage lender collapses

One of the largest US mortgage lenders, the California-based IndyMac Bank, has collapsed amid a growing credit crisis.

Federal regulators seized the bank's assets, fearing it might not be able to meet withdrawals by depositors.

It is the second-largest financial institution to fail in US history, regulators say.

The failure came on a day when shares in the two biggest US home loan institutions - Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae - fell at one stage by almost 50%.

But every country is trying hard to advance, not only China.

Even if China becomes the biggest economy, there is no need to fuss.

Wake me up as Chinese average GDP at the top of world.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - China's economy will overtake that of the United States by 2035 and be twice its size by midcentury, a study released Tuesday by a US research organization concluded.

Why are they talking about 2020 or 2035?

In many respects,   China has already overtaken the United States,   whether it is steel production,  industrial exports,  the number of university students,  the number of internet users,  the number of gold medals ( next month in Beijing ),   the biggest contributor to global warming (  Co2 emissions ),  the size of foreign exchange reserves....

I am sure that the Chinese economy is already bigger than the United States economy,   I am sure that China has already overtaken the United States.

In 2020,  the Chinese economy will probably be 3 or 4 times bigger than the United States economy!

Mr. Chindragon is a "egoistic".

China is nowhere near USA, European Union, Trade Route States or British Club. Maybe some Supercentres are getting close......
Everything in China is still inefficient, purchasing power of consumers is still weak, range of products purchase are still rudimentary....

World biggest economy does not means, individual Chinese will have same standard of living on average better than those in the United States!

cheerios!
