How are things on your planet? Or are you posting from some parallel universe where the names are the same, but meanings completely different?

I'm not sure what you mean.

Sounds like a pessimistic version of Zakaria and one that doesn't think about the EU. It is interesting that he says "China, India, the US and Japan" but not "China, India, the US and EU", since the EU has become ever more a "country" which stands in for the various European states. I guess it would be inconvenient to give Europe equal time. It's also inconvenient to point out that the international engagement of East Asian states remains very low, even Japan punches far below its weight diplomatically and China has never been able to capitalize diplomatically.

Seneca,

Do not point out inconvenient historical truths like that, it ruins these people's self-perception.

But the UN is currently running by an Asian who's US's asskisser.

Mr. Ban Ki Moon  was elected Secretary-General of the UN with full approval of all 5 veto members of the UN Security Council. I consider him a voice of reason and not an US lackey.

Ban Ki-Moon, who had endeared himself to the US, first as South Korea's ambassador in Washington, DC, and later as a competent participant in the six-nation conference on North Korea, had a clear edge over the others.
