source:  Wiki encyclopedia,  Corsica websites

French is the official language of Corsica, but a large number of Corsicans speak Corsican - Corsu. It has no current legal status. The French Government has yet to ratify the European minority language charter.

In 2000, Prime Minister Lionel Jospin agreed to grant increased autonomy to Corsica in exchange for an end to violence. The proposed autonomy for Corsica would have included greater protection for the Corsican language (Corsu), whose practice and teaching, like other regional or minority languages in France, had in the past been discouraged. According to the UNESCO classification, the Corsican language is currently in danger of becoming extinct. However, the plans for increased autonomy were opposed by the Gaullist opposition in the French National Assembly, who feared that they would lead to calls for autonomy from other régions (such as Brittany or Alsace), eventually threatening France's unity as a country.

Superficially, your point is true: Official language in France is French. But then again, the majorities in these minority-inhabited areas do not wish to secede from France.

Yes, perhaps they do not wish to separate from France. But someday in the future, when some country is far more powerful than France, a few separatists will rise to advocate separation, because the master will offer special money and power to them. The separatists will say they are the representatives of Corsica (In fact, they are not). Their master's media will say France annex elligally Corsca in the year xxxx, and Corsca people need free themselves. ...The master's media do not care if Corsca people improved their living standards under the rule of French government. That's an easy game every one cam play, right?

Some western people always think they are more clever, but in our eyes, they are stupid enough.

So... Augustus... your thesis is that no one wants to separate unless some very large power will sponsor them?

How do you account for the separation of the US from Britain (it took years to find a European country willing to help out) or the separation of Latin America from Spain? What of the separation of Bangladesh from Pakistan, Czechl from Slovakia, the Philippines from the US, India from Britain, Scotland from unitary UK government, Canada from Britain, Singapore from Malaysia, Papua New Guinea from Australia, the Middle East from Britain and France? The Basques from Spain? What about the Chechens? The Baltic States? Ukraine?!

Here's my bet: you, like nearly everyone else in and most from China, has paid not a moment's attention to what goes on outside it at a detailed level. You've got no clue where these groups come from, how they form, what drives them or how you get them to compromise. That's why you, like other people here, keep trying to draw analogies with things which are not actually analogs. I admit, you're getting better--Corsica is a pretty good shot--but you're still very far off.

Why aren't you asking why the US doesn't support the Kurds or why Spain hasn't released the Basques? You want to know the reason you've never thought to ask? Here it is: because you do not care, even on an intellectual level concerned solely with whose claims would "win in court" with any of these groups or regions, you're just casting about for a bludgeon and doing a miserable job.

France,  a country that has robbed many land in the world,   is a brazen THUG everyone in the world knows.

Now this thug is pretending to behave as a human right protector!    Like a dog learning to chew grass.

Turning a blind eye to  its own minorities yelling for independence,  france has a strange interest and
enthusiasm  to seperate Tibet from China !

We Chinese people can tell those French thugs who want to dismember China :

Your days to carve up China in the 19the century is over.  Take care of your own backyard,  be careful your own minorities will strip you naked to show what you really are!

Answer: You mistand the point.   if the power sponsors, the separatists will do this job. But that does not mean they are the representatives of their people. My idea of this does not help you draw a conclusion as above. Right? It's a simple logic.

Answer: Since your above-mentioned rationale  is not right.  These quetions are not worth ansering. But I want to ask you why the United States wanted to separate from Britain? Why Latin America from Spain?...I am not sure if you know the answer, but i can tell you that's not simply because of nationalism. You can study hard on these questions first, and then I may help.

Answer: I know clearly Northern Ireland want to separate from Britain.

Do not forget the U. S. has already controlled Iraq.
