you cant use the term in America as its insulting

same as you cant say spicks, niggers, chinks, or Indians

That's probably because bigotted peple have missused the English language by assigning meanings that did not previously exist.

However, the internet clearly accepts the word aborigine as a politically correct way to identify the original inhabitants of Australia. The internet also clearly accepts the word Indian as a politically correct way to identify the original inhabitants of America as do the Indians themselves apparently. http://www.americanindians.com/

Uh ... yeah, we do, but not easily. The older generation accepts it fine. Those of us born with the boomers bristle, and the youngest prefer their tribe name (if they know it, and many do).

I think there is something to be said about conducting one's self politely even on the internet especially on a board that suggests it is a news outlet and and learning resource as well as a open forum. Censorship of ideas is one thing. Moderation of language is another.
