Hi, guys ...

All of you said "I am a good listener" ...

Just wondering how often you make a good remark, or ask a good question to encourage the talker to go on?

I think everyone is a good listener when he/she is facing the right / attracted ppl & interesting topic....lol....
Success only favors those who persist and don't give up.

That's true. Sometimes we are deems as bad listeners due to meeting the clumsy speakers.:)

A good listener is still listening someone who is keeping complain things,  when they finished, and then give them friendly advises.

My definition.....

The "engineering" definition of a good listener is this....

You have two ears and one mouth.... 2:1

If used in that ratio....you are a good listener.

Communication is the most important source of personal power.

Why did I overlook this obvious thing?

It made me feel good when others said: "Thank you for listening."

I also notice what people just wanted most is to have their concern and idea heard, they usually don't need your lecture/advice , saying do this or do that, they just wanted you to lend an ear .

Recognizing that,  I have been learning to hold my own view or opinion or adivce a little longer, and to focus on the otheres, to try to grasp something more between the lines … to find the right time to give my suggestion ...

Lending an ear is a virtue …

Eyes on the Talker

It seems to me that the pace of  our lives is picking up and getting faster and faster, and everything is rushing and rushing. We don't have time for this or for that. A lot of things have ended up ...

The ability to look a person in the eye and engage visual contact while they are talking - to give good body language to relax the person talking.
