Dirty Dancing

The title is misleading.

The film is full of energy, like tidal waves, lightning, hurricane ...

It was a big hit!

Les Choristes

Les Choristes (Chorists) also called as The Chorus (US)/The Choir (UK) in English

On 15 January 1949, the passionate music teacher Clément Mathieu arrives at correctional boarding school for orphans and problematic boys, to work as an inspector. The place is administrated with iron fist by the cruel director Rachin and most of the boys have severe punishments for their faults. Clément decides to teach the boys to sing in a choir at  their spare time, and identify the musical potential of the rebel Pierre Morhange, the son of a beautiful single mother for whom he feels a crush. He also has a special feeling for a boy that expects the visit of his father every Saturday near the gate, but indeed lost his parents in the war. In the end Clément transforms their lives through music.

Mother of Mine

During the Finnish-Russian War more than 70 000 children were evacuated from Finland to Sweden.

Mother of Mine is a film about the fate of one little boy amidst the warring world. Finland goes to war and 9-year-old Eero's father is sent to the front. Even though his father promises him that the war will soon be over, things are never the same again. Shortly after the start of the war, sad tidings come from the front that make Eero's mother, Kirsti, break down completely.

Widowed and crushed by sadness, Kirsti is not able to look after her son and he sends Eero to safety in Sweden, a neutral country untouched by the war. Kirsti assures him that it's for Eero's own good, but Eero has trouble understanding this. The journey towards a new country and a new mother begins...

The White Countess

Todd Jackson  is an American expatriate living in Shanghai in the late '30s. While Jackson was once an American diplomat who came to Shanghai with great optimism about China's future, the bitter political squabbling and military violence that are a part of daily life in China caused him to become bitterly disillusioned. Jackson also lost most of his sight, and he has retreated into Shanghai's decadent underworld of bars and brothels rather than face the world. When a wager on a horse race wins Jackson a small fortune, he decides to indulge a long-time fancy and build the perfect Shanghai bar, one that would ideally reflect that corrupt beauty of the city, and he is joined in his project by Matsuda, a Japanese man with a mysterious past and an appreciation for Shanghai's underbelly. While assembling his pet project, Jackson meets Sofia, a Russian countess who fled her home during the revolution and now lives in Shanghai, supporting her family as a dance-hall girl and occasional prostitute. In Sofia, Jackson discovers a fusion of beauty and tragedy that fascinates him, and he asks her to become the hostess at his new bar. As Jackson becomes closer to Sofia, his cynicism begins to wear away and he develops a deep concern for Sofia and her family.
