any idea what the English equivalent might be? Ah Qing's lady? Ah Qing's wife?
Well, we'd describe her as Ah Qing's wife but there really isn't any equivalent for the honorific "sister-in-law" part. You might see some like "aunt" but that's really just an attempt at a polite term conveying respect. It's untranslatable in a way because, as a cultural matter, we don't just have the same form of address in English.

It would be interesting if our present-day heroine of the today had in mind  阿庆嫂,

It seems, by the way, that every English-language account of this situation refers to this dīngzi hù as a "nail house." So, is the meaning that these houses are hard to remove (like a nail) or these places "stick out like nails in an otherwise modernized environment"? Either interpretation makes sense.

Thanks, Jeff. The term means it is hard to remove. The female owner said to reporters people called her 阿庆嫂。

钉子户可翻为holdout,我想全句可翻为:The most toughest holdouts: I am not the trouble maker:)
