According to the BBC, P.M. Blair is expected to announce a timetable for the withdrawal of over 7,000 English troops from Iraq. A related CD story echoed this development.

When the American Democrats canvassed the idea of a withdrawal of American troops recently, Australia's P.M.Howard and his hansonites singled out Democrat candidate Obama and attacked him publicly. P.M. Howard went as far as suggesting that al-Qaida would be praying for a Democrat election victory.

Obviously the right wing, neoconservative Liberal Party of Australia believes that the American Democrats are in league with al-Qaida. An absurd sugestion, but one expects absurdities from Australia these days.

Yet when England went public with the timetable for withdrawal, we don't hear any derogative and demeaning attacks from P.M. Howard and his hansonites other than demur mutterings and excuses on behalf of the mother country.

One wonders whether Obama has been singled out by white Australia because he is half Afro-American and of the Islamic faith?

Blair 'to confirm Iraq timetable'

Prime Minister Tony Blair is expected to announce a timetable for the withdrawal of UK troops from Iraq. Mr Blair is set to make a statement about the 7,000 British troops serving in Iraq at the Commons.

The BBC's James Landale said 1,500 troops were expected to return home in months, rising to 3,000 by Christmas.

Downing Street has not confirmed the reports but Whitehall sources have told the BBC the process could be slowed down if the situation in Iraq worsens.

A Downing Street spokesman said: "It is right that the prime minister should update Parliament first."

We should have a target for the withdrawal of all British troops by the end of October this year

P.M. Howard confirmed WMD

Australia's P.M. Howard and his hansonites confirmed publicly and repeatedly that Saddam Hussein had "Weapons of Mass Destruction" (WMDs). He didn't, it was a fabrication by the right wing neocons such as Howard and his ilks to sow fear and uncertainties as an electoral strategy.

Australia's P.M. Howard and his hansonites then said that Saddam Hussein had links with bin Laden and al-Qaida; that Saddam was supporting the terrorists. This has also been proven wrong, if anything, Saddam would not have tolerated a challenge to his authority by the al-Qaida. Saddam maintained a sort of peace by brute force. He reminded me of the dictator Tito of former Yogoslavia.

Australia's P.M. Howard then told us he is there to bring democracy to Iraq, that was over four years ago, it hasn't happened yet and the current Iraqi democracy will likely not survive as such. So P.M. Howard now tells us he has to stay there to finish the job.

Now he is changing his tune again, P.M. Howard and his hansonites are saying that they are there to stop the civil war and restore peace. To this end they want to train more Iraqi troops and turn over responsibilities to them.

As a diversion, P.M. Howard empowered white supremacists in Australia to the extent that there were race riots in Sydney. Howard said it was a mere law and order issue. Iraq to him is a mere law and order issue too, the purpose of which, it would seem, is to guarantee his re-election by tapping into the xenophobic undercurrent in Australia and drawing it out.

What exactly is "the job"?

Is it an open-ended commitment, both in terms of duration and manpower?

Is there a timetable to this commitment?

Why is there a civil war in Iraq; how did it start; and who started it?

Deja Vu.

Dear cestmoi,

This is now unravelling as the mother of all tragic comedies. The Liberals have a formidable array of stars here : from the famous Abbott and Costello team, to the stocking netted Lord Downer to the one-eyed cyclopic miscreant little John. A new rising star called Nelson has joined in the fray. Between them and together, these clowns can't fight their way out of a wet paper bag.

This Blair announcement has really exposed that " emperor is without clothes " scenario. The Liberal responses are now centred on semantics.  It is " reduction " not " withdrawal " intoned the spin doctors. It is " a sign of success " echoed the unwashed , that has enabled the British to reduce their numbers  . If this is true, then why not declare " Total Victory " and bring the whole lot home ?  This is of course a deja vu of that other historical debacle called Vietnam. Then it was " the domino theory " of communism rolling on if the alliance did not stop " them " in Vietnam. The war was always " going very well and the body counts confirmed that ..." until we saw the toppling of helicopters off the roof tops and the mighty Yanks scurrying off with the tail between the legs. So what ever happened to the " domino " theory then ? Humbug and hypocrisy again and again.

Everything according to plan.

The boys return, get discharged and join the contractors.

Either this, or we all quit and let the muzzies fight it out themselves.  We could catch Rwanda Redux on CNN or other news channel of your prejudice.

Umm, Anglos believe in brute force and violence.

Most times, Anglo brute force and violence fail and they do the "cut lost" thing, that is to say, they withdraw because the natives have been "pacified" by the Anglos.

My question stands

How come John Howard and his hansonites attacked America's Democratic Party and Obama but made all sorts of obsequious and apologetic excuses when their mother-country England announces a withdrawal from Iraq?

Christopher_104, would you like to do your "map" and "fusion reactor" thing here to justify all this nonsense?

One sick nation, one sick people.
