WOW, what a list! |
Here comes my nomination:[/b]
Emotional crisis between a couple both of whom are intellectuals. Under the pressure from his life and career, the hunsband seeks to find an escape --- he falls in love with another woman, and breaks a happy family into pieces. However, through hardships of life and affection, he realizes the warmness of family and go back to his wife and they 牵手again. Extramarital affair is the theme of this story, which makes it quite controversial at the time it was televised.
I like the hero and heroine in this series, especially the heroine 蒋雯丽.
well, since I've mentioned 蒋雯丽, here comes another:
If we can say《牵手》is a marriage challenged by a THIRD WHEEL, this one shows us that a marriage would be in danger also when there is no such WHEEL. The intolerance to different beliefs, the disharmonies in marriage and the irrational attitude toward it all pose threat to a relationship.
Though I'm still far from getting married, it's strange that I have such a great interest in this series. Perhaps subconsciously I'm making preparations for my future relationship with someone.
I guess it's well-known.
But make sure your access is to the one shot in 1984, which is considered the best.
I haven't watched all of this series, nor have I completed reading the book, but it's just so indescribably fascinating.
P.S. You were watching Moment in Peking days ago and that is considered a modern A Dream of Red Mansion. You could make a comparison after watching this.
Do you have any interest in the poet 徐志摩? Well, if you do, this is about him and his love affairs with three women.
I didn't watch much of it because I could hardly drag my interest out, though I like the hero 黄磊. Forgive me 黄磊, I also want to know why I just can't sit watching it. Maybe it's I can't sit watching 徐志摩, I guess.
It's a story about ... love, I think, rather than life of the emigrants. :)There're some who say it is not well made because parts of its plot do not agree with what is real life in Vancouver but since I can't notice most of them(as I've never experienced living abroad) and just watch it as a time-killer, it doesn't matter much. After all, those beautiful sceneries in the series are quite pleasing to the eye, accompanied with those beautiful actors and actresses.
besides this, there's another focusing on emigrants:
It's the elder brother of 别了温哥华and enjoyed great popularity then. Many people are familiar with that famous line --- If you love somebody, send him/her to New York for it's Heaven; if you hate somebody, send him/her too to New York for it's Hell.
A story about a group of Beijingese striving for life in New York, giving a panoramic view of helplessness, pain and straying caused by cultural clashes between the East and the West. In decompositon and recomposition of relationships, in involvement in extramarital affairs, in educating their children and in challenges of different values between two generations, the Beijingese experiences changes materially and spiritually.
An interesting story of a prime minister of feudal China in the Qing Dynasty.
I've forgotten most of it by now, but I could remember clearly how I was attracted by it. Hope you like it too.
And if you want to see idol-series, here's one:
Love story between a rich handsome young man and a strong beautiful girl. Both are camera-faced. A series to relax your eyes and enjoy some views of Shanghai.
cough...cough...while I was reading your list with so many names, my mum dug one out and voted for it since once she and my auntie were so attracted by it. And I had to watch it then because she would not let me change the channel. Thank goddess we have two TVs now. Here's mama's vote:
Written by 琼瑶, mother of 还珠格格. According to my memory, it's the love story of two sisters. The younger one falls in love with her brother-in-law; a third man is in love with this younger one and the two get married while the younger one still can't forget her sister's husband; their parents' marriage is in danger too because of the WHEEL (plus, their mother is so intolerable, if I don't remember wrong)......such a complicated family.
Even my mum forgets how the story ends. If you have the interest, you could find it out yourself. Chris bless you.:lol
In order to be fair, I think I'd better mention this one --- once it was Dad's favorite:lol
Daily life of an ordinary Beijingese. A light comedy, I think. We could find some of ourself in it --- life and death that we all have to face, accidents in daily life and those subtleties amony relatives.
