a chinese going abroad may lead to the following results:

1. An honest appreciation of his/her country's problems.
2. Better ideas for China's future.
3. Knowledge of how to build sustainable growth.
4. Insight into how to clean up the environment.
5. A wider understanding of the world.

Let's remember that China's current growth would be impossible without:

a) Foreign economic concepts
b) Foreign investment

Wait there's more~

I tend to agree with the ladder and might I add:
6. Much more conscientous about others and better mannered. (learned Please and Thank you is the magic word at a very young age, apply it towards whatever we do, do not litter due to intrinsic actions and fines/penalties etc...)
7. Tend to think much more critically. (due to constant thought provoking questions on our surroudings through personal research and assessment instead of memorization,  rote learning and group thinking)
8. Hold more respect toward others people intellectual properties. (due to learning and researching academically with constant citations such as APA and MLA formats in our papers and socially discouraging imitations )
9. Learn to be much more independent by relying on self. (A majority working part-time and going to school, paying for own tuition, taking care of many brothers and sisters and ad infinitum)

Mind you, im only stating as a majority that grew up abroad  not saying many mainland Chinese students do not possess these attributes. (These attributes can easily be tapped and potential talent can be found but rather complicated with limitations of freedom in its education system)

I am convinced that an adolescent child living abroad can give better answers toward the numerous results from that blog.

At the end of the day...experience is the best teacher and holds more definate credibility.
