我先挑个最明显的错误:

stand the test of time; will not stand close examination.
经受时间考验;抵抗不住闭卷考试


close examination 与闭卷考试无关。这里指 经不起进一步/仔细/严格审查

太多啦!  “I stand corrected” 之上就有一个:
To be in a position of possible gain or loss:
处于一种可能得到或失去的状态:
She stands to make a fortune.
他立在命运的路口

解释是对的,例句却完全译错了。
