I am now living in Beijing. Two years ago I bought a car, but now its price has dropped to 2/3 of the level when I bought it. The petrol keeps rising and I almost find driving a luxury unaffordable.

What's wrong with the car industry in China? Is there really so much profit room for the big price jump? I doubt it, but it did happen.

annali :

I was a car salesman in america for 15 years . It is normal for your car to drop in price.
cars are a depreciating items  .  They are not a investment  , they are a luxury .
As for the mark up on a car , depending on what car it is ,  it  is usually around 3% .
Not bad compared to other items .

Your car still has 2/3 of the original value after 2 years? That sounds pretty good by any standards. I'm not ure what you're used to, but here in the U.S., you can consider yourself lucky if your car is still worth that much after 2 years.

Annali - Law of demand and supply

But oil is a "big fight" for it. Who pays more get it.

World is smart and changing to smaller cars.
But chinese are smarter, now opting for smaller cars with lesser fuel.
What's on your mind now........ooooooooooooooo la la....Kind Regards
