Kang is "kàng",

find in Kingsoft

find more here( in a english dictionary)

The word "kang" names a kind of wood or coal stove made of fired clay upon the top of which family members could sleep in comfort on winter nights in unheated dwellings.

Oh, i see.

Then it means i am right. You know yesterday i tried to explain it to my foreign friend, i said: " We sleep on bed or on Kang".  He asked: Kang? What does that mean?" I simply told him the Chinese pronounciation and let him memorize it.  Sometimes when i meet the words that i don;t know, i just say it in Chinese.

well, I tend to second Sophiaren's version, as "kang" is a very typical Chinese
