I came across this website and want to share with this forum. You might not like the title. You might not agree with its content or may be you do. It does have some good points.  I've been to Shaghai and I think it's a beautiful city. I just want to hear some honest opinion about this article.

Thank you, Twangspeaker

First of all, for some reason I can’t access the article any more. It gives me an error. Twangspeaker, if you can please cut and paste the article on this forum, I surely appreciate it.

The columnist from the Washington post simply points out the fact that China could use her energy resource more carefully. Instead of lighting up the whole Pudong area, it could cut back the usage especially during this crunching times. I remember my tour group had to pay extra to see the beautiful Shanghai at night. China has many other issues on the table but I think energy conservation should be one of the top priorities.  If it has to start with Shanghai, so be it.

I thank you for your response and am looking forward for more.

hey,nice meet you.akcakc.

That's a good idea conservation electricities from the beginning of shanghai. I live in zhangjiang area of pudong . I think there are nothing but the spectacular skyscrape and the beautiful night scenery in shanghai. So I think it's not important conservation or not any resources of shanghai, Let the government keeping prosperity of shanghai. In this way china's economic boost seen by the home and abroad.
Am I right?:-)

T/S

I post here because I want to hear from people both the pros and cons. There is not always good or bad, right or wrong or black and white.  I am just glad someone can actually give me an honest opinion. Twangspeaker and Sevecastles, I am pleased to make your acquaintance.

By the way, I like Hong Kong over Shanghai in terms of nightlife.  There are so much to do and so many places to go. Of course, Hong Kong is no Shanghai because of her size.

Still, China needs to conserve energy.  Just like water, it will be hard to come by someday. This someday comes sooner that you think.
