Hey, Guys, you haven’t heard the latest yet …...
Yes, I don’t like Blair but what can I do?

London still won.

It’s VICTORY day for London. Headline says:

'Cheers, London!

Final-round IOC vote: London 54, Paris 50.’

London cheers!!

Unforgettable celebration!

Burp!

Latest discovery: chips and beer don’t go together. Burp! Burp!

ps: I celebrate with London, I am not always opposing Blair or the English at least on this day of celebration. I modestly reject all accolades and praises. :))

Have you heard of this song?
Yes, it was played in the pub we had our celebration. It's pretty easy to follow. Come along and sing with me –

No, not 'Congratulations!'. It's January ....

*January, sick and tired

You’ve been hangin’ on me

You make me sad with your eyes

You’re talkin’ me lies, don’t go, don’t go

January, don’t be cold, don’t be angry to me

You make sad come and see

Oh, January, don’t go, don’t go

Life gets me higher …. higher
I can show, I can go
I can wake up the world …. little world
Gotta know ya, gotta show ya

**Sun, like a fire …. fire

Carry on, don’t be gone

Bring me out of my home sweet home

Gotta know me, gotta show me

You’ve been facing the world

You’ve been chasing the world

(repeat*)

Time, it’s a flyer …. flyer
Sunny days, fly away
English summers are gone, so long
Gotta go up, gotta blow up

(repeat ** and *)

C'mmon, don't stand on ceremony with me, guys!
Even every bulldog has its day.

Cheers!

Burp (oh, not again!)

Where is my post, Mods?
Must be the power failure again .... let me try :)

Once I asked a friend …

why is everybody so quiet? He said that’s because they are giving you the floor.

Thanks, guys and gals. I see the forum has been quiet for hours. Apologies, I couldn’t click on-line earlier because my electricity power was cut. Sh**, it must be the plumber’s fault. He worked and then went on strike half-way. Big business, he said. Terrible people, some of them are. Hope your power is not cut, like mine.

Let me bring you more cheery news. No, no January and still no ‘Congratulations!’ but something more sophisticated this time. It’s Ozymandias –

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert …. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell me what its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:

'My name is Ozymandias, kind of kings:
Look on my words, ye Mighty, and despair!’
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Not bad, huh? Thanks to my mother’s antidote. I am sober up.

Bye to Burp.

Blair vows to defeat himself and the morons who elected him into office

Tony Blair vows that Britain will defeat the terrorists who inflicted the "murderous carnage of the innocent."

Right.

Blair and the morons who elected him into office ARE themselves the terrorists who inflicted the "murderous carnage of the innocent" in the Mid East.

But at least WE can ELECT a moron into office, if we choose to do so?

Can you elect your president in China?

Hypothetical

Let's take a hypothetical situation, say there is a country that has a despotic leader who murders his own people in large numbers, tests chemical and biological weapons on ethnic minorities and has a history of waging war on his neighbours. There are also a number of other countries who, for various reasons would like to remove him from power and have the ability to do so. These nations had also tried to rein in this leader for over a decade through economic sanctions and other political methods with no success, he was happy to allow his people to suffer the effects of the sanctions while he still lived the high life. Let's also say that this leader had constantly tried to thwart UN weapons inspectors in their attempts to inspect his weapons facilities (access to these is not an unreasonable request of a defeated aggressive militant nation).
What is more irresponsible, to remove this man from power or leave him to inflict more suffering on his own people, his neighbours, the targets of terrorist groups he helped to fund etc etc?
To all the bleeding hearts that are crying for the middle east, go there, I have spent time in a number of countries in the region and seen no tears for poor Saddam. There is a world of difference between the tragic loss of civilian life that is collateral damage in any war and the deliberate targeting of innocent civilians that is undertaken by terrorists.

Is that your PRIDE in democracy ??

So, what matters is that you can ELECT and NOT the quality of the candidates who will lead you.  And you CHOOSE a moron to lead you?

Thanks, Mr Moron for telling us and confirming our doubts.

No wonder the West is going downhill.

No wonder the US and UK lost the war - 2 years ago.

No wonder Chancellor Gordon Brown of UK is urging the EU nations to come out with more money to fight Al Qaeda.

I guess that's the PRICE the West has to pay for CHOOSING morons as their leaders.

That happens to be urbexer's pride.  Thanks again for revealing to us what an imbecile you are and you have in the West.

today they can elect a moron, tomorrow

they can also elect a genius.  At least there is a choice.

Maybe people prefer a moron they have chosen rather than a genius who was imposed.  that's the essence of democracy.  It doesn't have to be the best, but it gives people choices.

no choice, no responsibility

that's the basic logic.  But it seems completely different here.  People have no choice, they bear the consequences.  People who are in power to have access to choices, they are also in power to let others bear responsibilities.     Very funny.
