President Bush will appoint John Bolton as UN Ambassador as quickly as congress adjourns.

People complain that Bolton has no diplomatic skills.  The truth is he needs none since his only objective is to start a war with Iran.

The occupation is failing because the military won't close the border with Iran, so terrorists keep escaping.  The volunteer army is failing to meet its enlistments because the government wants a draft.  Homeland security is failing.

Soon there will be an Iranian sponsored 9-11.  Then there will be a draft and an invasion of Iran.  There will be no choice, and Bolton will give back as good as he takes while the American tanks roll into Tehran.

It's called democracy.  Now die for it.

What?

" The volunteer army is failing to meet its enlistments because the government wants a draft. Homeland security is failing.

Soon there will be an Iranian sponsored 9-11. Then there will be a draft and an invasion of Iran. There will be no choice, and Bolton will give back as good as he takes while the American tanks roll into Tehran.

It's called democracy. Now die for it."

This is total bullshit. The enlistment havent failed because the goverment wants a draft, the enlistment has failed because to few americans are willing to risk there life for Bush:s ventures. Infact they are even cheating to try to enlist enough people and they have officers trying to convince people to join, and they use the effort in the areas where there generous offer in economical terms will give most response, in the poor areas.

The fact is that you get a really good pay if you join the US army and you get free education ( which you get free in most european countris without dying in a war)

Secondly in which sense has homeland security in USA failed since 9-11? What big terrorist attacks have been done succesfully done in usa after september 2001?

Thirdly are you seriously claiming democracy and war is related? A FACT that might out you on other thoughts.

Did you know that to this date no real democratic states have been in war against each other! Do you know why? Because the people is almost always the ones that have to pay in blood and material for war, not the despots. Therefor if you ask the people they mostly say no to war!

Don't be fooled. Don't fib about the facts.

Some soldiers' families need food stamps from the government because their pay is so low to feed their familites.  The educational benefits don't kick in until you're back in the USA, and right now soldiers are being forced to continue their military service involuntarily.

All the experts say air travel is no more safe today than it was before 9-11.

It is an abuse of power to grossly manipulate public opinion by allowing terrorists to attack targets in the USA, as was done on 9-11.  However, it's important to remember that the ease with which the attacks were permitted is part of the larger message from the USA government to its citizens: it can happen again.

I believe it will happen again, and then there will be no choice but to draft young men into the military and to invade Iran.

When that happens, the USA will need a hard-liner to hold the rhetorical ground in the United Nations.  John Bolton is the man for that job, and I believe he will appointed by President Bush for that reason.

Bolton and a war with Iran

That's an interesting prediction.  I wouldn't put it past them.

Several posts here portray the US as the devil incarnate.  I believe they are somewhat extreme but a useful result of such postings might be as an opportunity for Americans to see how some in the world view them.  It is very important to have a balanced understanding of how the rest of the world views you, true or not.

Americans are in such a political "Wizard of Oz" dream about their socio-politics, believing they are unparalleled in their ecomonic, social and cutural superiority.  It's in part due to the fact that so few Americans have ever been anywhere, except Las Vegas and New Jersey.

My sense is that America's fundamental problem is hybris.  They are really pretty okay on a lot of levels, but most Americans are utterly convinced they know everything and that, as G. Bush's daddy put it, we are "the envy of the world."

Not hardly!

From the perspectives of culture, cuisine, democracy and standard of living, there are any number of countries in the world that far outstrip the US.  To say nothing of moral behavior toward the rest of the world.

There is, of course, a certain opportunity in the US to make money or "get ahead", but you'll get a heart attack from the unending hurry-hurry and incredibly unhealthy diet before you actually accomplish anything worthwhile.

But it's the unchallenged sense that "we are right" that leads the US to appointments like Bolton and to war crimes like Iraq and the perhaps soon-to-be war with Iran.

There is some hope however:  Bush is obviously confused about which country is which, and it might take him until the next election to identify Iran on a world map.

Scott Ritter says the Iran war has already started.
