Yesterday, the pope suffered a unirary tract infection, a temperature of 104f, a heart attack, and toxic shock.  Still they did not remove him to the hospital.  That would seem to indicate that he's very close to dying, because he has always wanted to die at the Vatican like all the other popes through the ages.

How they let him get a fever of 104f is a mystery to me.  I mean, if you see the thermometer rise to 100, then it's time to begin the anti-biotics.  Thermometers aren't that difficult these days either, just a few second in an ear and then there's a digital readout.

Besides, Nasa has those biometric suits that track all the vital signs and has for years.  Once when John Glenn was supposed to be in space for 15 minutes but launch delays tunrred the wait into hours, he had to relieve himself in his space suit.  That lit up all the heat and persperation sensors along the inside back of his space suit.

That was 1961.  Now, 44 years later, the pope doesn't have a biomonitoring vest to keep a watch for fever or heart rate chances or breathing difficulty.  That's how small problems become life threatening in an 84 year old Parkinson's patient.
