definitely You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban

you raie me up

YOU RAISE ME UP
Lyrics by Brendan Graham
Music by Rolf Lovland
Sung by Josh Groban

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;I am strong,
when I am on your shoulders;You raise me up to more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up to more than I can be.
There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
And I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... to more than I can be.
You raise me up... to more than I can be.

My favourite song... (note the British, not the American spelling of "favourite"

Aiyoh! I don't think I could even write down my favourite 100 songs- maybe push that out to my Top 1000!

For words and melody I like Jimmy Webb's "Macarthur Park". So many people hate it, but it speaks to me. The Richard Harris version is the best.

"The Carnival is Over" by Australian group The Seekers from the mid-1960's is another all-time favourite of mine. It was written by Tom O'Brien- Dusty Springfield's brother.
