China's railways are seeing a rebound of passenger flows during the three-day Qingming Festival holiday as the novel coronavirus outbreak levels off across the country.

April 3 and April 4 respectively saw 3.96 million and 3.89 million railway trips made in the country, the most for a single day after the Spring Festival holiday, according to China Railway.

During the public holiday, more than 260 passenger trains have been added each day to meet the surging demand. In addition, a series of measures have been taken to ensure safe and orderly trips for passengers.

Tomb-Sweeping Day, also known as Qingming Festival, fell on April 4 this year. It is a traditional Chinese holiday during which people pay tribute to deceased family and friends. Many also spend the three-day holiday traveling.
