Are you suggesting that foreign tech powerhouses or chipmakers should not push their wares in China or simply stop doing business with China? Don't you know that Chinese companies need such whizzy foreign technologies to scale up? In other words, it's well-neigh impossible for them to develop it without foreign components in their digital products , thanks to staggering development costs and a paucity of specialists or brainy techies. At the same time, local-content requirements give Chinese companies a perfect excuse to use some homegrown parts in their products. America also has such protectionist policies.
If US forcing TSMC stop supplying to HuaweiSo be it! If Huawei cannot get those leading edge chips it's business would suffer. China now has 14/12nm so Huawei will retain its medium high end business. It won't completely fail!
China would completely ban all US components into China. Won't allow US strategy of picking off its best company and leave alone the weaker ones and have them continue to buy US chips.
The complete Ban would spawn a radical transformation
Huawei would switch gear and expand itself also into fundamental science company like an applied material, Carl Zeiss, Lam research, Komatsu..etc.
At the same time Huawei would get into chip manufacturing like a Samsung. First licensing from SMIC. Huawei will get involved in both chip manufacturing and lithography development. This way it will control it's own destiny in the future.

Pu. I know what are you trying to tell us. Problem is asking Chinese companies not to use foreign technology in their products would be asking them to forfeit the chance to shift their products in Western nations. Do you think most Chinese companies can turn a profit by peddling low value-added and low-margin products in Africa and South Asia ?
