Beijing in my opinion has kept away from affairs of Hong Kong at too far a distance.
It wanted to be seen by the outside world, especially by the Five eyes countries that they are keeping the side of the Basic Law agreement.
To convince the world, and possibly Taiwan that the "One Country Two System" really works.
It has worked fifty percent the time, and failed half the other.
Unfortunately, the HK Government has also been playing the tune of appeasement to the same English-speaking countries.
.
The babies of the "I love my British ruling masters"; the China-haters of 1997 are now in their twenty something.
Their brainwashed head is completely filled with the hateful stories of " the evil mainland" instilled by their parents....., "China is bad, we want the British back".
The "Hate China" beasts in Hong Kong today is numbered four to five time bigger than that of 1997 by the natural course procreation of animals.
.
The problem facing Beijing is real. It will not get any better going forward to 2047.
Ignore the hypocrisy of the British.
If law and order breaks down in Hong Kong, and Lam's hopeless government is seemingly unable or unwilling to deal with them, she should be dismissed.
Appoint your own mainland governor.
Temporarily dissolve the Hong Kong Police.
Truck in the PLA and mainland cops to retire the peace, law and order the city need to prosper.

Another Sunday march, and another disorderly day for our overworked Hong Kong police officers to deal with.
It is now 8.30 pm as I type. Most of the marchers have long gone home, but the hardcore young thugs continue to blocking the business area where mainlanders usually shop. Their message is loud and clear;
"we don't like mainlanders!"
They are closing the roads and shutting down shops.
The young thugs are destroying the Hong Kong economy; their future job prospects, but they know it yet.
.
Which city permits these disorderly behaviour of closing roads and shutting down shopping district by the same group of people at will, and on the weekly basis?
.
The police tried persuade these young troublemakers to disband and go home peacefully. The thugs have none of it, and ordered the office to disappear.
The cops have left the area. It is now mob rule Hong Kong folks.
.
Carrie Lam just don't seem to be able to deal with this direct challenge to her government's rule of law.

Here are some of my suggestions...
Extend China's cyber safety firewall to include Hong Kong.
Ban WhatsApp
Ban Telegram
Ban Twitter
Ban all western social media that allows criminals to communicate and plan their lawlessness in live groupings.
.
Russia and many other countries have already ban Western regime changing social media.

The mobsters are set on provoking violent punch-ups, as instructed by the surreptitious foreign eminence grises, in order to goad HK police into action to squelch the riots by force, then the western media would raise a hue and cry, moving heaven and earth maligning the HK and central government ...

However, the Chinese authorities have a lot of cards to play in dealing with this unrest, we just have to wait and see ...
Believe it or not, it's true.
