US is buiilding new submarine like crazy and this is in contrast with CHina building too many surface ship like 054A,  052D, 055D.

to counter US submarines, China need newer generation of nuclear powered submarine like 095.

China do not need so many surface ships. It needs more silent attack submarines to track down US subs.

So true, you should run for president and correct the mistakes made by your incompetent leaders.

Chinese Naval is designed to defend its extensive coastline along with its Air force and SSM and SAM bases. Submarines are primarily effective against transport ships and as most task groups have anti-submarine capabilities. It is capable of a submarine to submarine combat and it does perform other tasks such as blockading ports and spying. China does not have enough firepower or ships to go beyond its own coastal waters. It is also technologically behind the US by at least two generations (carrier it is now 3 generations).

It is my understanding that the Chinese navy, air force, and land missile bases present a formable opposition to any incursion, but China is far away from exerting any military strength beyond that.
