Tit-for-tat

a]  Washington hasn't opted for the obvious to prosecute Huawei's business units in America, but waited patiently for the opportunity to grab Meng in Canada...
b]  Greediness is a bad sign....   C$10 million (HK$58.42 million) bail to Meng; which is a Canadian record    ...She will pay a cash deposit of C$7 million, with five local guarantors liable for the remaining C$3 million if she absconds...
c]  She only has two valid passports, one issued by China and the other by Hong Kong...
d]  What is Trump's meaning when he said he's ready to intervene in exchange for a largest trade deal ever made?  Will he tell the US Justice Department not to seek Meng's extradition from Canada...

Did those US business units (even allegedly) lie to the banks? No.

Did those US business units (even allegedly) break sanctions against Iran? No.

US has nothing on Huawei's US business units, that we know of anyway. Huawei's staff is not that stupid.

Act of punishing the US business units for something they didn't do, instead of the persons and units that allegedly did something, would not be about justice, but about revenge.

That would again be very Chinese approach of course.

China's greediness is forcing companies to hand over their IP or stealing it. The fact that Meng was arrested was pure coincidence. Huawei broke US rules of shipping US technology to Iran. Just like ZTE was caught shipping US technology to North Korea.

That means transnational blackmail.

That means transnational blackmail.

I see, "transnational blackmail" would be uncle Sam's common procedure regarding the Middle Kingdom...

Must be scared sh*tless to show it to the whole world...

A former Canadian ambassador to China has called on the Western nations, including the United States, to stand up for Canada...
It would be nice if publicly and also behind the scenes if countries like the United States, the UK, Australia and France would put in a word on our behalf...
There is also growing anger in Canada that the Trump administration is keeping aloof as China arrested two Canadians over national security...
Meng was detained at the request of the US authorities.   Trump said he could intervene in the US case against her if it helps seal a trade deal with China.   Such statements have displeased Canada...

"But for now, Canadians are standing alone at the edge of an abyss, with a Chinese noose around our necks and American shivs sticking out of our backs," said an editorial in Canada's National Post...

The world took note of how Trump treated Canada during trade negotiations and how the US stayed silent when Saudi Arabia overreacted to Canada's expression of human rights concerns over treatment of the Saudi dissident...
China is lashing out at Canada not for Canada's initiative, but for Canada's honoring of a US warrant. The damage done by uncle Sam's silence in terms of alliance relations is truly awful...

The same old, stale accusations without showing what is the reason, why the transfer, and how it is done. Just blind acceptance without thought.

Just like ZTE was caught shipping US technology to North Korea.

ZTE was the first victim, now it is Huawei. Mafia style of destroying the competiton!
