Tell that to the Chinese students and their parents; they have an obsession with American accent!

I did and I couldn't agree with you more. I also know of one person who is good in English but is ethnic Chinese who applied to teach English at a private tuition center. What he experienced was really a shock to him and very insulting too. The staff just burst out laughing when he requested to apply for the teaching post. Nothing was said. He left the place still groggy.

Not surprising, that sort of reverse racism is rampant in China.  Read my posts regarding this in the other thread, "Exposed: Heilongjiang International University".  In there I related real examples of how two Overseas Chinese with excellent English, were dropped when their race was known to the recruiters!
