The United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, on Aug 6 and 9, respectively, 1945, to hasten Japan's unconditional surrender. The two bombs killed at least 129,000 people, most civilians.
While the attacks remain the only use of nuclear weapons in the history of warfare, the US had considered using such weapons during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953.

Exactly MacArthur wanted 50 to 80 atomic bombs in addition to the fact USA (NATO) dropped more ordinace on North Korea than what waws dropped on both Japan and Germany in WWII and North Korea was bombed so terribly no buildings higher 3 stories were intact in 1953. Now here we are again ---USA wants THAAD in South Korea, war ships in South China Sea and has NATO at Russia's back in Ukraine but also is involved in Libya, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan and just can't get enough war action so now it will be North Korea and then perhaps China. Someone must pull the pin on USA dollar supremacy and see the war machine sink.
