Premier Li Keqiang will make official visits to Australia and New Zealand starting next week as a major effort to boost economic ties with the two Oceanian countries.
The visits will be the first such trips to the two countries by a Chinese premier since 2006.

Australia is more than able to update its own infrastructure facilities when it finds the the money and desire to do so.  Political will to increase taxes for infrastructure projects is missing and the current budget position does not favor such spending. An East Coast bullet train project (Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns) would be a suitable area for collaboration with china, but again the costs can not be covered by the Government at this time.
