The Mother Motherland Monumentlocated in Kiev was opened 1981. Now it houses the Museum of WWII, and its overallheight is 102 m. There are two viewing platforms - at a height of 36 and 92 m.We'll show you the photos made from the higher one. There is also the thirdplatform within the sword but, unfortunately, it's closed to the public.
The admission price is ratherhigh - 800 UAH ($ 32), there is also a time limit - only 10 minutes. To climbthe narrow stairs is relatively easy. Those who are not allowed to climb areelderly visitors, people in slippers, barefoot, heart sufferers, epileptics,children under the age of 18, etc.
The monument is heated by thesun that's why it's very hot inside. In summer, when the temperature reached 72 C, it was closed on safety regulations. The platforms are protected bynetting which has a small cutout through which you can look at the city.
