So you think forcing people to have a child that may be unloved and resented is a good idea?

Many people in China seem 'forced' to have children because of 'tradition', and many are clearly not emotionally ready for this.

in china children are seen more as economic units than people, made to order to fulfil government economic needs.
The need in this case is that the Chinese government does not want the responsibility of caring for OAP's, so more children are needed to do this.
They realised that the one-child policy backfired with the over-supply of boys, many of whom will never marry, and this is an attempt to 'fix' this 'problem'.

The Chinese government is finding that people are resisting having a second child for many different reasons, so it will be a short step to employing more drastic measures to get the birth rate up to a level that will even replace the current population.

For a so-called 'communist' country, very little is provided for the average citizen in terms of social care - just look at the cost of health-care,  education and living when compared to the average wage.
It is not surprising that the financial input of up to 6 adults is now needed for 1 child.
