Editor's note: The 2016 Rio Olympics is still ongoing, and media outlets are updating the medal table daily in a prominent place on their front pages. In contrast with China's previous obsession with gold medals, the general public is learning to enjoy the sports themselves rather than focusing on the medal count. Should we ditch the gold medal obsession? What matters most in the Olympic Games? Fo ...

Of course, staying on course to win gold medal or any of the top three medals is the key to exciting sport competitions, renewals of sporting tactics and sporting aspirations in the auspicious icon of The Olympics (...uniting people mindsets, exchanging cultures, respecting individualism, respecting co-national identities ....). But, to swear and/or slur at others to win a medal is very disgraceful and dishonourable to the offenders and nationalities ( as in the silly case of Aussie Horton which remains people of fearsome racialism being kept alive in Australia. As well, it simply brought shames to The Olympic Council ).

Of course, staying on course to win gold medal or any of the top three medals is the key to exciting ...

athletes who are caught taking illegal drugs are cheats, as they try to dishonestly win.

Horton's comments were about all drugs cheats, and that is what Sun Yang is, regardless of how long ago it was.
Sun Yang still tried to cheat.

Horton's comments weren't racist, but many people chose to take them as racist.
There is not a country called 'Drugs cheats'.

The Olympics do unite people, but people want to see fair play and Sun Yang is not an example of fair play, but as an example who don't take responsibility for the choices they make in order to try and win.

An athlete from my country was found to have failed a drugs test 2 days into the Olympics and was rightly sent straight home and will be banned from participating in his sport for at least 2 years.
I don't take Horton's comments about drugs cheats personally, in fact I support all those who oppose this sort of cheating, as this man tried to cheat and rightly got what he deserved.

it doesn't matter if the if the cheating was yesterday, last week or years ago.
Any athlete who takes illegal drugs will always be a cheat and anyone who supports them should take a look at their attitude to cheating in general.

Gold medal is as shining as the Sun that can give us unlimited encouragement and energy to do well on job!

The success of the Chinese Women‘s Volleyball Team tells us we should never admit that we are defeated and then try to catch the yellow thing in a magic way!
