The story of how we with a company of bloggers went on a fascinating tour tothe Tula accordion factory. The factory itself is located on the outskirts ofthe city and occupies a large area. Let's start with the inspection of thefactory’s museum in which there are collected a lot of accordions which wereissued previously and continue to be made to this day.
Bayans and accordions are a reed instruments .Harmonica could be Double-row, bayans could be even five rows, and theright-hand side of accordion has got keys. In Europe, there is a buttonaccordion, but it can be distinguished from the bayan only by specialist inmusical instruments.
At the moment, the price delta for manufactured goods at the factory startsfrom 5000 t.r for tiny souvenir harmonica with your logo to 420,000 formulti-timbral bayan.
In the closet there is a single-timbral accordion for children'sinstrumental ensemble. Each harmonica is set to its tone and plays a speciallywritten party.
Employee of Department of development demonstrates skills of playing andtells many interesting things. I remember that the harmonicaists did not liketo go to China and other countries with a humid climate, because a few dayslater the board swells and the tool starts to play on the new and not alwayswell. The five-year wood with good drying saves us from this, but now this woodis not used to manufacture tools in Russia.
Each instrument on the factory is signed by hand and has its own uniquedecoration and pattern.
As it can be seen from the scheme – Tula’s harmonica occupies a landmarkposition for all reed instruments, which are made all over the world.
Museum exhibits that are older than a hundred of years.
We were strongly interested in the question: "Is it difficult to breakthe bayan?" - Chief engineer said that this is unlikely, and probably forthis to happen you will have to work in team. However, such tools have theirweaknesses and it is it’s fur. If a fur gets wet, it soaks and needs to bechanged. People quite often refer to the factory with such problems. They alsodeal with the restoration of the harmonica.
Vitek, the inspirer of our excursion.
As everyone knows the creator of Tula’s chromatic harmonica is N.IBeloborodov
The museum also has a concertina and harmonica of multiple vendors and releasedates.
I will briefly tell and show the process of creating a learning harmonicaand expensive bayan.
