i was eating liang mian (cold noodles) at work when the waitress poked her finger in my noodles......
then i read this thread.....

some unspoken rules I have encountered are:
you should not complain if people take pictures of you without your permission - it is acceptable to do this to foreigners.
You should answer the personal and intrusive questions Chinese people ask, or they will be offended.
don't be surprised at local people spitting on the street.
be VERY careful when crossing the road, even at a pedestrian crossing when the light is green for you - red lights for cars are only a suggestion.
expect to pay more for everything - it is called the 'foreigner tax'.
people will touch you without permission, especially if you are a foreign woman with long blonde hair.
there are more that you will learn the longer you are in China
