Read a comment under a popular celebrity's moment share in her twitter-like social media platform, sayiing, "why so many Chinese mimic those westerners who spend abunch of money on their pets, here in China, we still have millions of peoper are suffering poverty and hunger."  Thus a debate was ignited. Some claim we should not waste our property over the pets while some insist the costs would benefit the society and the animals.

So when I was shocked by the photo above when I surf the  internet, it's really a big question I have never think about before.  It's an animal welfare or just the emotion expression from the owners to their loved pets? What would I choose when that day my dog passed away?

Westerns treat their dogs and pets with more regard and kindness than shown to their human neighbor next door.

No, Chinese people should not take this decadent route of the westerners.

I can understand spending lots of money when you love your pet a lot. It's not for the pet. It's for yourself. I think of my lovely old cat Bandit - who has been a loyal friend for 16 years now. But spending money won't make me happy when she dies. We will bury her in her favourite garden under her favourite big rock. From there, Bandit will supervise us and her territory!
What's on your mind...
