Starbucks has announced a long-awaited move to open its first branch in Italy.
The American coffee giant says it will enter the birthplace of espresso with "humility and respect" for the Italian coffee culture.
By teaming up with Italian retail network Percassi, Starbucks is expected to open the first outlet in Milan next year.
More stores will then be rolled out across the country.
Back in 2004, Starbucks opened its first cafe in Paris with outrage among French coffee purists.
However, the company now has around 100 outlets across France.
The Seattle-based company has over 23-thousand outlets around the world.
Last year, its revenues surged 16 percent year on year, reaching 19 billion US dollars.
But when i was living in Italy, I found that they enjoy their own cafe better than others! So I doubt whether Starbucks can survive in Italy. What do you think?
