Ye Jiabin, born in 1949, is a famous character painter from Guangdong province. Ye's work features vivid faces and poses of characters, with strong personal style. He has published more than 50 comic books and illustrations. Scenes from the Spring Festival are one of Ye's favorite themes.

The painter Xu Lele is specialized in gongbi ( an intricate realist technique in Chinese painting). Her works were displayed at many exhibitions and received many awards from China and abroad. As one of the most popular female gongbi painters, Xu's style is interesting but full of a sense of beauty. The painting above depicts a scene of five ancient Chinese children celebrating the new year's arrival.

Jiang Guofang is a famous contemporary oil painter from Jiangxi province. His works are popular at some auctions in China. In 2011, Jiang and his Forbidden City series of paintings caused a stir in Athens. The painting above shows a little emperor on Chinese New Year's Eve.

Xu Cao (1899—1961) was a famous character painter born during the Qing Dynasty. He was a skilled painter and specialized in portraits of ladies from ancient times, gongbi style, xieyi style (sketching thoughts), and line drawing (simple and straightforward style). The painting above depicts the dragon-lion dance during the Spring Festival's celebration.
