I think China is seriously underrated in the area of personal freedom. These days, people in China can travel, own luxury items such as cars and fine art and beautiful homes. They can shop, go out to eat, start businesses and flaunt capitalism... they can pretty much do what they want as long as they comply with the law.
The journey IS the destination!
