British police have been allegedly spying on relatives of Jean Charles de Menezes after he was mistakenly shot dead by undercover officers.

Menezes’s relatives are currently considering taking legal action against Metropolitan police force in relation to the tactics used by its undercover squad.

Nine years after the wrongful shooting incident it has emerged that information was allegedly gathered and held by the police about the family of de Menezes as they were seeking justice for his death.

The information was uncovered following an internal investigation into the Metropolitan Police's undercover Special Demonstration Squad.

The 27-year-old Brazilian electrician was shot and killed at Stockwell underground station in London after police mistook him as a bomb suspect.

The internal investigation, which is yet to be published, also allegedly shows that the relatives of Cherry Groce, whose shooting sparked the Brixton riots, were also wrongfully spied on.

On July 10, an inquest jury in Britain found that police failings contributed to the death of Dorothy “Cherry” Groce.

The jury found the armed police raid which left Groce paralyzed should have been called off and that police officers had failed to properly communicate and sufficiently check who was living at the address before entering the property.

The police raided the house in search of Groce’s older son, Michael Groce, who did not in fact live there and was not present at the time of the shooting.

Groce, a mother of eight, died 26 years after the shooting in April 2011.

The shooting is said to have sparked the 1985 Brixton riots, which left dozens of civilians and 10 police officers injured as tensions spread to other parts of the English capital.

Pam Cox:

Only victims are targeted in UK since the whole establishment is based on crime.
