The path I chose

Three days ago, I reckon, I went out with my sister. The so-called went-out is just going shopping and that’s all, but such an activity has never failed to excite us. The simple joy in it is that we can go to wherever we’d like to go, even without a goal. Trying on clothes is always our priority of going out and then eating. We can hardly get tired from hanging around. And on going backing home, we choose the most healthy, economical and environmentally-friendly way—walking. On our way home, the traffic, familiar yet strange road view, the same bookstore with brand-new decoration, etc—these arouse our reminiscence of our middle school. We recalled the days when we rode to school against all kinds of odd weather, when we made an excellent repairman thanks to the scattered bikes, when we waited for each other at the sheds, when the bread stall on the roadside became our motive to drive faster back home…

Memories always makes us sentimental. From that innocent girl to who I am now, what changes have been made to my mind surprises me. I find myself kind of greedy because I am well aware of my limitations and the gaps between myself and other people, but I won’t succumb myself to current situation, instead, I will shake things up—learning calligraphy and yoga, applying for driving test, and many things I do at school are cases in point. Better to call it the instinct of human being. As an old saying goes, “Man struggles upwards; water flows downwards.” These are all what we have to go through before we become who we want to be.

Choose the path wherever has the maximum resistance. This might seem stupid for many people but would you like to idle away and wake up one morning to find that you didn’t really do anything? Whereas keeping challenging yourself makes difference, you are constantly aware of your weakness and fear and you may use this to your advantage.

"Two roads diverged in a wood/ I took the one less traveled by/And that has made all the difference.''I guess whichever path we take, we should avoid tread on grass and furnish it with more flowers.
