WeChat has been gaining a huge popularity among people. Almost everyone has a Wechat application installed on his or her mobile phone. Consequently, it can be seen everywhere that people keep staring at their phones while texting, voicing, and broadcasting, etc. Statistics show that as of 2013, WeChat has 300 million users with 70 million overseas. Compared with other social apps in China, WeChat develops and expands at an amazing speed so as to strengthen its position in the market and penetrate into people’s life as well as companies’ marketing strategy successfully.

Why is WeChat so popular? What unique competitive advantages does it possess?  Generally speaking, there are four points making it stand out. First, WeChat supports installation in multiple systems such as Android, iPhone, Windows Phone, Symbian, and Blackberry, etc. Second, it is applicable to a great deal of languages so that people at abroad can also have access to. Third, WeChat realizes comprehensive and constantly-updated functions, providing services to users as many as possible. Users are able to text and voice with friends, receive messages from public apps, play games, order services, make new friends, etc anytime and anywhere after networking. The “social” (pengyouquan) also provides a wide platform for them to do whatever they like, e.g. share feelings with photos enclosed. Finally, these functions are free of charge even with internet costs saved in wifi environment.

By virtue of above-mentioned features, Wechat is sure to be well received among people. Because of great convenience, a relationship network is established, consolidated and expanded on WeChat, while privacy is better protected in this relatively restricted space. Admittedly, in current information age, there are a large amount of people becoming WeChataholics. While enjoying great benefits from these social networks, we shall be careful for our own health and do not engage in establishing a virtual network but neglect people around. Most importantly, avoid overusing them so as to influence normal work and life.

提个建议:看到 a great deal of languages我觉得有点别扭,查了一下,a great deal of 后面只能跟抽象名词或物质名词。不知道对不对。
