Kindergarten paper

This post was edited by querist at 2013-2-7 12:00

Hello, everyone!

In the US, children learning to write use special paper that we simply call "Kindergarten paper". Here is a picture of this special paper with dotted lines for the letter F (both F and f). As you can see, the lines show the children where to write the letters, how large to make different parts of the letters, and space for the parts of letters (like p, g, and q) that go below the line.

Is there something similar that Chinese children use to learn to write characters? Can anyone post a picture of it?

Thanks!

Yes, there is. They're called 'Chinese character writing sheets' (汉字练习纸 hàn zì liàn xí zhǐ).

You can purchase them online or at Chinese bookshops.

Worksheets with stroke order are suitable for beginners.

Here's another sample (including boxes with and without grid lines):

Thank you! It looks like there a couple of different styles, the one with four boxes and the one with the eight compass point lines.  Now I know what to make.

Thanks!
