thank you very much but I do not want to learn these words ,they are not common.My lesson these days is about marriage and names of relatives.Too many words indeed but quite interesting

I understand. These are just for this occasion. When the Dragon Boat Festival passed, maybe no one would remember these. But Zongzi nowadays is a common food for breakfast. You might want to remember and taste it. Love marriages. It's always filled with joy and happiness. Chinese kinship system is quite complex, right? There're so many kinship terms beyond "grandpa", "grandma", "uncle" and "aunt".

oh my God I always confuse them. yeye wai po ,po po not to mention the uncles and aunts .We have many in Greek as well but not so many.what is that my goodness.;Pwhat a headache.

Sometimes, Chinese people are also confused by them. Relatives from Mother's side are distinguished with those from Father's side. That is why Chinese get so many terms.

I know what you mean.If I used them in everyday life it would be easy for me to remember.Now to learn by heart it is complicated and boring

Absolutely. Maybe you can try to use them in your daily life. And when your relatives do not understand you, you can then explain each term to them. That way, you'll get a deeper impression of them.
