A 9-second video clip has gone viral online. According to the clip, China's nationwide suveillance system, dubbed as "Skynet", can accurately identify the types of vehicles as well as the age, gender and clothing of pedestrians. In recent years, the government has installed more than 20 million cameras across a country where a decade ago there weren't many.Today, in Chinese cities, cameras are everywhere: on highways, in public parks, on balconies, in elevators, in taxis, even in the stands at sporting events.

That's why China has a relatively low crime rate;  criminals have nowhere to hide,  and msny crimes are solved by going back to look through the camera recordings!  Only the criminally inclined fear the cameras.
